Magicana - Ruins by Miko

[raw]
made by Miko for LD36 (JAM)
* Note: If you don't like visual novels, don't play this. It's a visual novel. Simple as that. *

Solve puzzles in ancient ruins in order to find a crystal. Easy enough, right?

This is my shortest LD entry ever, but it's probably the only one I'm looking forward to going back and making a post-LD version of. I want to add more puzzles and an actual story, explaining who the characters are and the setting. I was busy with life stuff this weekend so I'm happy I was even able to finish it, but it's definitely not the best it could have been.

As always, all of the art, writing, scripting, characters, lack of music, etc. are done by me, Miko. The software I used was Ren'Py, as apparent by the main menu.

Hi! The witchy theme lured me in. :)
You got a nice style going, I especially liked the way you drew the characters' faces and hair. And for a LD entry, the writing certainly wasn't bad either.

I didn't have any trouble with the puzzles but I kind of missed more flavor text about the objects that were relevant (I kept hoping there would be something more to the signs near the ceiling). Overall, I think this was a nice little game, though the lack of music and sound effects was quite pronounced so I hope you might add some next time.

Keep up the good work!

Aww, i accidentally entered right code to the only interesting (last) puzzle without actually solving it. Should've thought harder before entering whatever came to mind.

Wish there would be more puzzles, cause the first two feel like only introduction.

Also i think it would be easier to differentiate characters if Rimia would have yellow name.

Anyway, nice to see another VN in LD. Good work.
