Black Drop by Ezard

[raw]
made by Ezard for LD31 (JAM)
Black Drop is a game about shadows on an overhead projector. Play as shadow boy Faust and traverse the terrain of silhouettes to collect ink splotches and get home to your matchbox.

The fully original piano soundtrack and minimalistic art style come together to create a visually distinct and thoughtful game.

*NOTE* you can only stand on flat sections - touching rough surfaces will cause you to die.

*NOTE 2* you can draw a small surface with your cursor (drawing with a pen on the over-head-projector sheet) to help you through the levels - some levels even require you to do this!

This was a fun game, but the blur was a headache.

With some extra polishing this could become a great game. I don't understand why you die when you touch the side of the walls though.

It is unique. I had no idea about dying due to hitting certain sides of the shadows though.

Nice aesthetics and touching music. I didn't get what was that stroke drawn when you drag the mouse in the upper panel, though

It worked now ! Must have been some problem with our pcs!
Nice music, really relaxing! The artstyle is really cool, but i took some time to realize that i needed to stroke a path to get to some places, I rushed through the instructions as always x.x but after that it played really nice !

As much as I like the style and the unique mechanic, it felt pretty uninteresting gameplay-wise. Plus I didn't understand why I died.

I'm not crazy about the platforming, but this game had a nice feel to it. Very pleasant soundtrack! =)

This was excellent, very good atmosphere with the graphics and the music. The drawing mechanic was also very nice. Not a lot of bad to say about this one, there were a couple of bugs that got me stuck inside the walls but they didn't ruin the experience.

Unfortunately, when I started on the game, I accidentally skipped the intro instructions, so it took me a while to discover double-jump. Other than that, I thought it was a competent puzzle platformer.
