made by ppupae for LD31 (JAM)
Just a Little Screen Time is the story of a lost Television who has been sucked out in to space from her attic home. Use your ability to change the channel and travel through different classic TV settings to find your way back.

It's a fun take on the classic point and click adventure.

The main aim is to get back to your home in the attic via the stairs.

Though i like the idea of the concept, i couldn`t figure out what to do because it is very difficult to interact with things. There is no reliable way of deciding if i just can`t interact with an object (yet) or if i`m just standing slightly of the right spot to do so. That´s what i guess. I maanged only to pickup the bucket and fill it with water but couldn`t do anything with it in any channel. Iy this is polished, this could become a nixe little thing!

Art and sound is incredible! Very well done! I love the concept of jumping between the worlds too. The controls were a bit weird though. It would be nice to have point and click controls to interact. Neat idea! Well executed!

It was a bit difficult to understand what you could interact with, and what effect would it cause...
But all in all, I liked the idea of channel swapping!

Very nice voice acting and graphics, but it's not a genre I play often so the puzzles made no sense to me, but that's probably more a fault with me then the game.

Thanks everyone! We had a lot of fun making it! We knew the genre would be less accessible and the required play time can be between 10 and 30 minutes depending on if you get the flow or not. I'll add some of the narrative elements to the description to make it a little clearer.

I wish this one worked for me, but it didn't …
I tried both the OS X version and the Web version, both launch and show the little TV leaving the house. Then I cannot leave the title screen… Am I supposed to press 1, 2, 3? I don't have a numpad, and the numbers at the top don't seem to work…

@Aru Nyan - Yes 1/2/3 are the only way to change the channel and return to regular gravity! I'm sorry that you cant play. Give me a a few minutes and i'll see if i can change the buttons to something else in another web version.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments :D

I could use some hints in figuring out where to go next, and what to do. Trial and error can only get me so far. Stuff I've achieved:
* Pickup bucket
* Pour water into bucket
* Make robot clean each other...somehow
* Pickup broom

Voice acting and 3D were well executed and set the game apart. Channel changing effect is cool.

At times it was unclear why you could not progress past an invisible wall. Personally I could not understand the puzzle and did not get far.

Being able to switch to the channel you're currently on combined with no HUD made it unclear which channel I was currently on.

Alright, that last comment really helped. I finally made it to the attic. The game is a hog, though, so I had to take down the real-time shadows to play properly.

Thanks for sticking with it and making it to the end. Optimisation wasn't even slightly a concern over the jam weekend, but in hindsight we should have made our entry more accessible. This was our first ludum Dare and I think I've learnt a lot and will definitely take it on board if we do another one. :)

The web version had a lot of graphical glitch which made it unplayable for me. The DL version worked fine though.

I won't talk a lot about the graphics, audio or general atmosphere of the game, since those are obviously strong features of the game...
Instead I want to talk about the controls and the pacing of the game: the angle of the camera made it a little hard to navigate the level, and it was sometime really hard to position properly to interact with an item. Also, with the lack of feedback it is hard to tell if it is even possible to interact with an item. As a result, I think there is a bit too much of wandering around, which breaks the flow...
