Space Fireworks 3000: The Shmup by Darkfrost
Space Fireworks 3000: The Shmup!
It's a shmup! Hope you like it!
Controls:
WASD - Move
Mouse 1/Space - Shoot
Mouse - Aim
I'd recommend the standalone versions over the web ones, due to some possible perf issues in browser, but go ahead and use the web one if you're lazy! Oh, and there should be a web one embedded above too!
Make sure to run in a 16:9 resolution! :)

Aiming feels a little sluggish to me and I could use some feedback when the player takes damage, but a mix of regular patterns on screen really mix it up and keep gameplay fresh.
It can get a little clustered at times, some of the background particles, bullets and enemies can be a bit hard to distinguish sometimes, but the patterns are clever, fun to watch and play. Cool beans!
I had some trouble prioritizing between focusing on my ship or my aim because the gun fires in a perfect line. I would kind of create my own spread shot by jiggling the mouse, but maybe a little bit of innate spread on the bullets would help?
Its missing some music.

At first I only got hit by things that did 100% damage, but once I did manage to get hit by bullets, I definitely found it hard to notice. Some sort of effect would've helped that quite a bit.
I like the squoosh effect when you fire your weapon :).
