I like me a good pixel sword fighting game, played it till the end. When I run and jump it did not recognise the jump button and I fell down the pit. Also I think I had infinite stamina? :)

Well, for a first entry I'd say it is okay. You can definitely see it as a learning experience.
For good platformer controls there are obviously a lot of examples, starting with Mario games but also Braid. I think one tends to underestimate the amount of work that goes into controls that just feel good.
The animations are okay (the stances are well readable) and with a little more polish the graphics could turn out good.

=P the stamina is not infinity, i guess is time to moderate the regen rate haha!
