Parallel Thinking by Latcarf

[raw]
made by Latcarf for LD30 (COMPO)
Controls:
- left and right to move
- up or space to fire/jump
- enter to start over when you die (i.e. when the game freezes :D )

There is no way to win, but you can try to stay alive for as long as possible. When you get hit by an enemy or a bullet, the screen freezes and you have to press enter to start over.
Sorry, it's not finished, I was planning lots of wonderful things but I wasn't motivated enough to implement them.
Also there is no sound.

When an enemy reaches the end of the screen, it reappears on the other screen and turns into a more dangerous enemy.

Had a bit of trouble running the standalone, even with Love's DLL files added in. You may want to look into other deployment options (there are a few other Love based games on here that ran without a problem)

A+ for innovation! This is a really really clever mechanic. I love that enemies that you miss on the left screen turn into much bigger problems on the right screen. This is clever enough for me to give 5/5 fun even though it's still a bit rough. Good use of theme.

No sound, could use it.

Graphics are programmer art with no special effects. They get the job done.

Really cool idea. Work with it! This could go far.

For those looking to download Love, grab it here:
http://love2d.org/
You can get a portable .zipped version that you just unpack and drag the Love file onto.

Thanks!
For the windows version, I just forgot to add some of the DLLs in the zip, no idea why, it should work now (but I can鈥檛 test it, so if someone could confirm it it would be nice).

Seemed to freeze on death and I would have to restart the application.

It runs on my Mac without problems. Pretty simple, but I like the idea of playing two separate genres at the same time, and how the worlds affect each other.
