Pretty hardcore, this is sure.

Pretty frustrating at the beginning until you understand how the things works. The backtrack strategy is catchy, but it needs to many linear steps to defeat it. Maybe alternate paths might help to diversify the gameplay.

Difficult, especially in the beginning of the game. Getting hang of getting around the different enemies was a great part of the game.
The monster was especially neat. He did things that surprised me, even once I thought I recognized all of his attacks. Even though in retrospect it isn't too hard to walk past him, every time I do it's extremely thrilling, as in most 2D platformers I don't get to walk directly in front of an enemy and live.
Very original!

Really hard, those spikes are frustrating, sometimes they killed me without them touching me. On the other hand, I think the idea of having to get the parts for the purpose of building a ballista is good, the monster's movements are pretty neat. I also loved the monster's sprite. I see potential here :)

I didn't realize the ballista was transparent. I thought it was there and I could use it, but I realized I was supposed to build it. The player's movement speed and jumping was a bit awkward which made the tight jumps difficult. The player's hitbox also seemed a bit large and I got hit by the spikes questionably a few times.

Good effort, I'd like to see what it looks like when you complete it.

I tried it a couple of times and most cases died from falling. At least that is what I think happened. I really don't know why, but the fall height death setting kept surprising me. It felt wrong. There was something with jumping too, a bit of combination of feeling sluggish and not having any/enough grace period after actually leaving platforms. Hard games can be really fun (though I'm extremely demanding when games are hard), but the harder they come the more critical it is that everything with controls and level design is absolutely right else it just feels like it's the game that is doing it wrong, and hence not me, the player making the mistakes. Sorry that came out a bit harsh, I simply mean to say that it would have help the game if the platforms and jumps had been made forgiving rather than needing precision as the game is right now. Then I would probably have enjoyed jumping around collecting the pieces and firing the weapon.

Couldn't figure out where to go after the falling bridge, my character kept dying even if i didn't land on spikes, and having to do all that platforming again is really harsh. I like the graphics though, they're very charming.
