I really would have loved to submit my entry to the competition but since I didn't have time to work on sunday I have to upload it to the jam.\r\n\r\nI've written all the code within 2 days with the following tools:\r\nLanguage: C++\r\nEditor: gVim\r\nCompilation: MinGW\r\nGraphics: Gimp\r\nLibraries: SDL2 (to get a window, OpenGL context and input events)\r\n\r\n\r\nSince I didn't have the time to polish the game and to give explanations, I have to write a short introduction in the notes.\r\n\r\n__Theme__:\r\nThe evil has build a connection between worlds to intrude our land and destroy the main castle. Stop them!\r\n\r\n__Interface__:\r\nOn the right side of the screen there is the control panel. At the top you can see your money as a yellow number. At the bottom there is your score in red. Currently you can build 3 types of units by first clicking at the icon in the control panel and then placing them on the map.\r\n\r\n__Controls__:\r\nYou can use WASD to move the camera around the map and Q to close the game at any time. The game is played mainly with the mouse since the main goal is to protect your castle by placing the following defensive units:\r\n\r\nThe thrower:\r\nThe thrower can throw all types of things at the enemies to deal damage.\r\n\r\nThe gatherer:\r\nThe gatherer automatically gathers ressources when placed next to them. Currently there are three different types of ressources: Rock, lumber, and tar.\r\nIf you click on a gatherer he gets selected and you can then select the thrower or spear-manufacturer by simply clicking them. He then forwards the stuff he collects to one of the selected units.\r\n\r\nThe spear-manufacturer:\r\nThe spear-manufacturer needs one wood and one stone to produce one spear. Like the gatherer it can then forward the spear to selected units.\r\n\r\n__Goal__:\r\nYour goal is to build up a ressource pipeline so that there are many things hitting the intruding monsters.\r\n\r\nHints:\r\n- you can click the portal to speed up spawning\r\n- different materials have different strength: Log < Boulder < Spear\r\n- tar can slow down enemies\r\n- enemies use the shortest path and placing units blocks their way\r\n\r\nI am really thinking of putting more features into the game and doing a post-LD update.\r\n\r\nI hope you all enjoy the game!","title":"Portal of Intrusion"}
