Lonely Planet by Nonameghost
Hey I did something!
This is "Lonely Planet". It's become a bit of a non-game due to my chasing of a dumb bug and wasting a bunch of time. But it's still pretty awesome and I want you to play it!
The main feature is being able to connect with a random person and play over the internet with them! You can even chat (With an incredibly broken chat UI!).
DESCRIPTION
===========
You are a lonely robot on a lonely planet. Your planet is nothing but a weird material and some odd shapes. You are sad.
But one day, you notice a set of two buttons on the side of your screen. After experimenting with them, you are suddenly greeted by, to your disbelief, another robot! This robot is stuck on its planet, but you are close enough to talk. You talk to the robot about life, love, and how awesome Ludum Dare 30 was.
Eventually, this robot will leave, but it's not too bad, you can use these buttons to speak to any robot in the universe!
ABOUT
=====
This game played on the theme of "Connected Worlds" by giving each player their own unique planet and having them interact with each other.
I didn't get as much done as my insane scope had planned, but I still think it came out pretty nice. I definitely learned a lot.
Each time you play you get one of TEN WHOLE textures on your planer, and a random arrangement of "resources". Unfortunately, you can't do anything with them, because of the aforementioned time management issues.
You can walk around all over the planet though. All over. Everywhere.
If you want to connect to another person, you have two options:
1) Hit the Hourglass button and wait for someone to connect to you.
2) Click the Eye button and search for someone to connect to. If it doesn't work immediately, hit it a few more times and then wait. I honestly built it poorly and on local internet, so I have no guaranteed way of connecting you with someone. I'm very sorry about that :<
You can also chat when connected with someone, just type in the text bar and CLICK the arrow. "Enter" submission is broken because Unity 4.6 is still a bit buggy.
PROBLEMS
========
This game relies on my shoddy network programming to do much of anything. You can walk around by yourself, but that's about it. If you have trouble connecting to somebody, try restarting and making sure that:
A) You have public ip access. Not everyone does, and unless you know how to set that up on your end, I can't do much. The game should automatically try some alternatives, but it might just not work. Sorry :< Complain to me on Twitter @NoNameGhost and I'll try to help you.
B) The app is authorized by your firewall. Windows will probably hassle you about this, with a pop-up. If you want to play, allow this on at least private networks when the dialog appears.
C) You are connected to the internet. The game won't really tell you if you are or not, you should probably check. (Happened to me all the time)
============================================================
Even if you don't want to play online, at least play the game for a bit, enjoy the music I whipped together, the models and textures I made, and the game I worked hard on this weekend.
Thanks so much! And again, if you have trouble, bother me on twitter @nonameghost or e-mail neil(at)studio-mercato.com.

It looks nice though. :)
FYI, the 64-bit version just locked up, but the 32 bit version ran fine on my Mac.
Love the visuals as well :)
