This game got me stuck pretty long! Although I have to admit I only made it to 10 planets and then getting too frustrated, the amazingly calm and atmospheric music kept me trying! The only thing missing to make that feeling totally complete could be a blow torch kind of sound effect for the thruster.

The graphics go really well with the feeling as well, good job on the pixel art! The only thing I can point out is that the red border might look better if you set the texture to per-pixel scaling instead of linear. Also, a visual indication on the amount of thruster power available would be great, like a bar above the ship filling over time and emptying when you thrust. That would also make it easier to realize how that game mechanic works.

Overall really nice concept with a great theme connection.

Good mix of gaming, history and theme interpretation. Needs some graphics work, though.

It's like space katamari! :D
The ship became a little too hard to control after a while, especially as the view was so zoomed in and the backdrop totally black (I couldn't see where I was moving). I really like the soothing tunes, they go great with the paintbrush feel of the pixel art.
Maybe add a way of pushing away the planets for a while to allow for easier movement? Or maybe allow to drop a planet off (maybe a necessity sometimes, but simultaneously becomes a punishment)? Or, one very cool possibility (perhaps?) is to utilise the momentum of the planets to your advantage (as you already is affected by it)? Like, push them to the right so they bounce back hard at you, giving you a boost to the left.
Funny interpretation of the theme!
