Oddly satisfying to connect every city in the system - I don't think there's much strategy that can be had, but who cares? It's fun.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Graphics are very good. Complete lack of audio is a fault, though.\r<br\/>Overall, one of the best I've seen so far."},{"author_name":"stimpact","author_uid":"38998","time":"Aug 25, 2014 @ 9:44am","epoch":1408959540,"text":"I really got into this! I played 6 times or so before I thought to check out other planets. Then I discovered that you start on the hardest planet in the solar system :) Enjoyed this, I think you have an interesting mechanic and would like to see where you can take it.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>@stimpact"},{"author_name":"iSamurai","author_uid":"24851","time":"Aug 25, 2014 @ 11:07am","epoch":1408964520,"text":"Quite interesting to play with. The graphics is very nice, a bit cartoon and yet very clean. The idea is very intuitive. The strategy lies in how to position the new satellites to save cost and generate most revenue at the same time. This may require some more adjustment to make it more challenge. But anyway great job!"},{"author_name":"Anshzinc","author_uid":"40540","time":"Aug 25, 2014 @ 11:14am","epoch":1408964940,"text":"I really liked the gameplay. Graphics look pretty good as well. The heavier the planet, the quicker the satellites has to orbit.)\r<br\/>- Planets rotating around themselves. So we could try to set satellites in geostationary position\r<br\/>- When placing a satellite close to another satellite orbit, it could automatically set on the same orbit (so the orbit at the same speed)\r<br\/>- Same with the geostationnary orbit"},{"author_name":"apiotrw","author_uid":"30650","time":"Sep 13, 2014 @ 4:02pm","epoch":1410623820,"text":"Really nice"}],"images":["ld30\/25259-a0d9e9ffcc164ecda6d3fe7db807908e.jpg","ld30\/25259-92ae4b2edf4889a02fc32ad3ade50ef8.jpg","ld30\/25259-d0c10c3efc79a74c1f9d10162f28d284.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/tdxx9vkuwbeurpj\/LD30-Transmission-windows.rar?dl=0","text":"Windows"},{"url":"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/pctcy2m8igi1vo3\/LD30-Transmission.zip?dl=0","text":"OS X"},{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/perky\/LD30-Transmission","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"17096","g_author":"25259","g_event":"LD30","g_eventkey":"24","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"17125","g_title":"Transmission","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"139","g_commentcount":"17","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/375043\/25259-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/375043\/25259-shot1.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/375043\/25259-shot2.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Launch satellites into space and let cities communicate and connect over interplanetary distances.\r\n\r\nA few things not mentioned in the game:\r\n- To further you launch from a planet the more it costs to launch, this cost is exponential.\r\n- Each satellite costs you $$ per second.\r\n- Each city pays you $$ per second for every other city it can connect to.\r\n- Scroll wheel to zoom in and out.\r\n- Hold Q to slow down time.\r\n- Hold E to speed up time.\r\n\r\nWhat was cut during development?\r\nThere was a spaceship you could launch and a predicted trajectory would be drawn. The only way to maneuver the ship was to turn on\/off the back facing thruster and front facing thruster and the idea was you could only launch satellites from planets you were landed on. I cut it because I was running out of time and needed to work on the satellite and connectivity code, but you can still see it in the source code.\r\n\r\nBuilt in Unity3D.","title":"Transmission"}
