Legacy Of Ice by juxipolo

SUBJECT: North Crescent Mine - Archeology Report
Edward,
I just got word one of the northern mining operations might have uncovered something. We don't have any experts within 500 miles, so you're going to have to hoof it. I've booked your trip - check your mail box for tickets. I want to give you a heads up that the last leg is by boat - it's a bit unusual, but it's the only way in that bay. Let me know what you find, the bosses are pressing to get operations back online ASAP.

Thanks!
-Simon

Since this LD isn't rated, consider trying the post-compo version. There's an art style shift that I ran out of time for, but would like feedback on. There are also a few quality of life improvements - notably dialog popups are faster and cancel if you click something else, as well as tooltips appear in the inventory

Controls: Click to move and interact

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Point-and-click games can be very fun. But probably, due to lack of time, I felt that the game needed some adjustments, like when showing messages: if I click the same object multiple times the same messages still appear even when I'm interacting with other objects. The graphics are well made and the art style is coherent. Maybe a pixelated font or a more "squared" one would be more adequate. With a background music and some simple sfx it would be perfect! Congratulations for this entry!

It's a very nice looking game. But I got stuck talking to the archeologist in the building :(

Nice game with well made graphics and an interesting story. I really liked that the item combining was automated, saves you the trouble of combining everything with everything if you get stuck. Well done!

This is a really impressive entry. One slight nitpick is for a more refined text system. For example not queueing up text boxes, make text move slightly faster, allow for a fast display option etc. I also got stuck but that is more due to me being terrible at point and click adventures ;)

Pretty good game, along with the art. The ending was a bit confusing as to why it ended until I looked at the guide. Also some sound would have helped. Worth playing.

Graphics are beautiful, controls are simple, story is good. What more to expect from a point and click adventure.

Congratulations!

Wow. I love the graphics and atmosphere - big pixels ftw!
Puzzles not so much, but it's not something to be done in 48 hours.

This is so good for 48 hours. The graphics and game play feel ancient.

time pressure is excellent to practice, never have the time to do what we want xD but nevertheless I liked the game, pixel art above all was what I liked most.
