High Frequency Trader by srimech
Somehow at 2am on Friday morning this made sense given the theme, but now I don't think it fits very well. Anyway, this is a 2D space trading game. You'll start off in orbit around a planet from which you can buy tradeable goods and upgrades. Use WASD to make purchases from this menu then fly to another planet and sell them, possibly fighting some rogue traders on the way. You'll need to hold an orbit in the yellow circle to trade with a planet.
Notes: Don't push the down arrow to try and navigate the trading menu - that will deorbit you and crash you into the planet. I keep making this mistake and can't figure out a good way to fix it. Don't drop to slow throttle near any planet - the ship needs its engines running to steer and you'll be dragged into the planet.
The physics, particularly the orbital mechanics, are deliberately fake, meant to be fun rather than accurate. This may annoy you if you work at NASA or play Kerbal Space Program a lot.

Nice game! I really enjoyed figuring it all out. The visuals are nice and the game ran really smooth :)

I can see a lot of potential in this game. Firstly this is very impressive for a game made in 48 hours, there's a physics simulator, a trading aspect and a combat aspect. It took a while to get used to the physic engine, trying to get a nice circular orbit within the yellow circle is very challenging, once I mastered that I went to ILKUOUC, where Silicon is a few credits cheaper, picked up two units and brought it back to UNQUHEX for a nice profit. It took a while for me figure out how to buy commodities (The buy key is 'D' not 'E'). Other than that it's a nice retro interstellar arbitrage game that can go far.
