Galaxy Universialis by Capitals
The IDEA - A 2d 4X space simulator, you mine and try to expand your empire.
The instructions -
1. You can click on the planets to bring up an info page where you can make colonies (One per planet and it does not appear immediatly).
2. Come back to this game each day to see how it has improved!
The Games Features -
1. Event System, events can pop-up and you have to pick a solution. (In but I'll flesh out tomorrow so you won't see, See footnote).
2. Science, a tech tree like kerbal space program. (In but I'll flesh out tomorrow so you won't see, See footnote).
3. Day System, like Europa Universialis and Crusader Kings 2.
4. Space cities, working but not feature complete.
5. Space colonies, not tweaked yet.
What I Aim To Complete Post-Compo:
1. Event System with tonnes of events.
2. Science tech tree.
3. Redesigned UI's.
4. See into the space cities.
5. Formalized space fleets w/ animations and movement.
6. Buttons working propperly.
Footnote - I need sleep, so I am submitting this when I could do two hours more. Tomorrow I do not have time to work on this apart from the evening. Please post bug reports in the comments and I'll finish them tomorrow night (GMT).

Also, I don't know if this is in the post-compo version, but the button in the ores menu says 'Black' rather than 'Back'.
Sadly, it seems the game isn't all there yet. The buttons don't seem to do much and it isn't clear what's what. A complex game like you're going for needs a streamlined UI and everything to be well explained, so as to avoid confusing and alienating newcomers.
