Shoot & Loot game. Not completely finished though.

You are stranded on an alien planet and have to fight your way down to a precious loot.

Requires Java (I tried to bundle it for the last hour but it's simply too late at night to figure it out just now :P)

Controls:

A/D - run around
SPACE - jump
Mouse - aim
Left Mouse Button - fire

And another WASD only, widescreen-only release. Please think of us who have AZERTY keyboards and 1280x1024 screens.

The game engine is nice, I like how dirt scraps and bloody chunks accumulate. It doesn't even slown down after having dug and killed for a while.

I don't really see the link with the theme. I mean, yes, you can dig and go downward, but is that enough to fit the "Beneath the Surface" theme?

Since the shots are spawned at the gun muzzle, you can't dig the squares just next to you, which is annoying.

Sadly, despite the technical quality, the gameplay becomes boring very quick. Maybe with more block types, faster digging, a lot more enemies, etc.. it could become a good game? After all, this is a Terraria skeleton, and I poured countless hours into Terraria.

I think the bones are here of a pretty good idea.
A few tunings and the game would be much more fun, firstly the enemies should have less health but you should spawn more of them.

It is a funny game, but maybe you could have collision for the gun too? Now I just stick it into the wall and shoot at the enemies and have some cover.

I dig the idea. Some technical issues (it's a game jam, so not exactly a big deal), like not dropping down when standing over empty space. I also would like to have seen the bullet spawn a little earlier so you could dig more easily through rock right near you. Neat idea, and a cool simple look. Nice work.

well well those enemies are way to strong. some grenade will have been fun, and a bit quicker for digging

Good job! It feels unfinished but there is an interesting surface generation. It's very unbalanced and sound was annoying. Graphics look good. I hope I'll see your next entries! Good luck!
