Post your high scores in the comments!

Phew! I didn't manage to make everything I wanted and the balancing could have been better, but hey, LD. Maybe I'll release a post-compo with more cool stuff sometime soon :D

But for now, enjoy!

Did it have sounds? I didn't hear anything :P

My highest was $140, but I'm sure I can do much better xD

Loved the graphic style and music to this. Got a little under $600. Liked the variety of fish, and the orange ocean theme.

My record was 1255$ and I really enjoyed playing it. The graphical style fits very well. You made some nice game design decisions here and I hope you extend it to a post-compo version with new fish types and perhaps some kind of upgrade system? I wish the harpoon gets a longer range and some hooks which bind fishes while the harpoon gets reloaded.

Oh, wow, I really liked your style. The gameplay and graphics really came together on this one! I felt sorry for the fisherman every time his cable was cut.

Masterfully done, thanks for the game!

By the way, I tested this on wine - sound did not work, but other than that the game worked fine.

Cheers!

Amazing sound work, it complements the game really well. The feel of the game is perfect.
Just wish there was more variation or more goals, then it would be even better. Got $560 ^^

Wow, fantastic work. Great concept, perfect for the theme. Really enjoyed playing this. The low res graphics look awesome and the color scheme is spot on. The sound is good too, kudos for the guitar work! My record so far is $410

Any chance of a Mac or Browser version? Otherwise this will have to wait until I'm in the office tomorrow. It looks great!

Really good graphics, quite nostalgic and excellent animations. Its GameBoyColor style works nicely.

And the final counting is a neat touch, very "arcade" like. Ir reminds me of "Battle City" from NES :D

@Gwinnel nope, sorry :( I made this in Game Maker, so porting it is going to be a problem without buying and porting Game Maker Studio. Someone tested it with Wine, maybe it will work with Wine for Mac? If it's worth that effort for you, that is.

By the by, thanks for the awesome comments and feedback/ideas everyone! I'm working on a more polished and expanded post-compo version. You can kinda follow the development on my twitter if you want to.

Fantastic.

I saw your blog posts but forgot to search for the game until now. Really love how you managed to convert such a physics heavy game into the pixel style. Looks great, feels alive and plays well.

Got no critique at all really. Great entry!

Love the art, and really like the physics feel of it. Very simple and very polished. Great work! :)

Feedback: I died quickly the first few times, as I kept accidentally firing left. Once I was used to the controls however, I stopped playing at around 300$ when I realised nothing new was happening.

Enjoyed a lot.
Graphics and pixel art are awesome! especially that it have complex physics behind but a pixelized rendering, it give a very good and realist feeling.
Best game I played so far and I vote 5-star everywhere except no audio. Congrats.

This game made me so happy. I played atari games as a kid. These graphics. These sounds. They made me happy inside. The controls are good, the game looks great, and it's a lot of fun. I'd like to see this developed more post LD. So much potential!

$2475! Took me a while to get that score. Before that, my high score was still under 1000. Very addicting game you've got, and I like the complexity added by the different behaviors of the various fish.

The graphics are fantastic, especially the way the boat moves on the surface. The bass riff in the background and the sound effects add a lot to the experience. Really fun game, man!
