Temple Escape by jayemjee

[raw]
made by jayemjee for LD36 (JAM)
While exploring an ancient Aztec ruin, intrepid explorer Carolina Jane found a clockwork Aztec robot! Activating the robot, however, has triggered a failsafe, causing the ruin to start collapsing! Help Jane escape the ruins with her prize!

A simple side-scrolling, endless runner type game made by myself and a friend using Unity. See how long you can last in the collapsing ruin. While the game is not as finished as I would have liked (there's no audio), I hope you enjoy nonetheless!

Very fine game, I like the model of this robot and animations.
Also the design of levels are good.

Pretty nice level design. Robot and Carolina are nice characters. I definitely agree it needs some sound. The darkness seems to suddenly rush in at certain locations making it really difficult to navigate.

Nice graphics, they're very simple and very effective!

I had some problems with the camera, though. I kept outrunning it at the start, which kept me from going forward until the "darkness" behind was way too close.

Other than that, it works pretty well, nice job!

I also had problems with the camera. I would also find a way to differentiate the ladder/rope with a color that contrasts more with the background. Very good work so far!

Interesting idea. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but the camera moving with the darkness give a certain tension to the progression.

The level is also pretty cool.

Sad that the camera was so slow. I think it would be better to have it follow the player. No one likes auto-scrollers! Well done otherwise, though. Polish it up. :)

Tried your game while streaming on Twitch last night and I must say I was well impressed. The level design is very cool. I would definitely play more, especially with some music :)

Really well done on the platformer mechanics and models! The levels were also a good challenge as well, it didn't feel too easy or too difficult. It would be great to play this with some music and sound effects, but for 72 hours this is great!
