Solid Shape, and the shape of things to come. by McBeef

[raw]
made by McBeef for LD35 (COMPO)
Solid Shaped has been called again to save the world.

Dangerous terrorists have taken over an important military facility. But one man, alone, can take them down. By killing them all.

"Solid Shape, and the shape of things to come" is a puzzle game where you must eliminate all enemies to succeed a level. But you can only kill enemies with one less or one more sides than you. And when you kill them, you assume their shape. You must figure out the correct order of executions (pun intended).

Shape up, and be a man!

impressed by the simplicity of the idea in applying the theme and the coolness of the puzzle itself, however it was pretty easy. I liked how you can jump across the map but its smart enough not to let you jump if there is no actual open path there! The dialogue was humorous but then there was a bit too much of it... Had fun playing!

Pretty funny, gameplay was simple, game was pretty easy to beat though maybe it's for the best since I saw the whole story that way.

Confused at first about the controls, and what type of game it would be. I was expecting action, or at least roguelike, but once I figured out it was a puzzle game, and moves were limited only by pathfinding, it made sense. A movement animation might have helped. The key directive that I think was missing was that the relevant decision for the player to make is who the next bad guy is to kill.

The levels were designed quite well, but I have a feeling that due to the mathematical properties of this particular puzzle system, it'd be really hard to design more difficult levels with complex or non-intuitive solutions.

This game was intelligent and pretty fun to play. The game might be too easy, maybe control the character with arrow key would be gain difficulty to the game.
