Rogue Miner by dem0

[raw]
made by dem0 for LD29 (COMPO)
This is the skeleton of my roguelike project for LD.
It's made in maybe 3 hours and as I am running out of my personal time, I am submitting it as it is, and maybe completing it later for jam or just for fun.
It is playable but still pretty poor.

The idea is, that you are a miner left in an abandoned mine filled with monsters. Find your way back to the ground.

Explore a randomly generated cave with cursor keys. Plant bombs with Z. Fight enemies with X. Wait still with spacebar. F1 and F2 change game speed. Bombs destroy walls and kill enemies (and you).

The game can be started in fullscreen by starting it with command "fullscreen" in case you have hard time seeing anything!

Features upgrades and level system.

Blue e either gives more bombs or exp.
Red p gives health. < Takes you to the next level.

Green and red S are enemies. Red enemies see you more far away and have more health.

Quite often crashes at level generation.

Written in a hurry, editing later! See ya and good Ludum dare!

Known bugs:
- Crashes sometimes at level generation (infinite loop or something)
- Enemies attack the character really rarely despite chasing him

Todo:
- Different items/weapons
- Improved level generation
- Bosses?
- Mining/crafting?
- Moar enemies

Stay tuned!

I like this game - a simple style, basic combat, cool!

A neat little idea! It might be cool if there was something that made sure

Really tiny game window, made it super hard to play without changing my game resolution; however, once that was done, it was pretty cool. I am impressed that it was done in two hours.

The bombs are pretty neat! I think they might feel better if they busted all the tiles near them immediately instead of taking a few turns. Could still have lingering fire to damage enemies.

Nice, fun and really simple in design and simple to start playing and get the hang of.
Graphics are fit for purpose but it's hard to tell what some things are and what they do without watching your stats.

This is quite a good game, but unfortunately, a memory access violation occured after about 10 minutes of playing.
