Miner Grievance by Jack
Frameworks/external code:
XNA 4.0 (everything else was written from scratch)
It's been a while but damn it feels good to be back. This is probably without hyperbole the ugliest game I've ever made, but nonetheless I think it turned out well, especially for the time.
Made some incredibly grating soundtracks and some surprisingly good sound effects for it too, which was something that people often said about my other LD entries.
It's basically a game where you collect coins and blow stuff up. The difficulty lies in not destroying the coin, not blowing yourself up (easier than it sounds) and not being shot by other players in multiplayer. I haven't tested the multiplayer with another person yet but hopefully it should be fine.
Keyboard Controls
P1: WASD to move & aim
Space to jump
Shift to shoot
P2: Arrow keys to move & aim
Right Ctrl to shoot
Num0 to jump
Both: Escape to pause
Enter to start game

I don't have a gamepad so I played it on the keyboard and unfortunately the controls (WASD + Left Shift) isn't very intuitive and made the gameplay less fun than I think it could be.
Overall I think it's good though and I would love to try out the multiplayer since it feels like it would fit the concept perfectly.
