I was a big fan of tetris attack back in the days of the SNES (I have it on an emulator now) and always enjoy a good puzzle game. \r<br\/>on puzzle 14, it can be solved with 1 fewer move than is given. Nice interweaving of story\/setting in between puzzles too. And I really enjoyed the NES music, volume was fine for me."},{"author_name":"Draknek","author_uid":"741","time":"Apr 28, 2014 @ 10:18pm","epoch":1398723180,"text":"Presentation is rather at odds with the story, haha! I can't make myself see the visual style as anything other than "abstract puzzle game".\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Wish the blocks disappearing triggered again so that the explosion graphic always disappeared instead of only sometimes.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Wish I could move the cursor through solid tiles (and it just changed colour to show you can't swap): the way I have to navigate around them is awkward and doesn't add anything.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Realising I'm glossing over the good stuff, just trying to give useful feedback :)"},{"author_name":"Shire","author_uid":"36512","time":"Apr 28, 2014 @ 11:37pm","epoch":1398727920,"text":"Great puzzles, well done!"},{"author_name":"Zccc","author_uid":"14205","time":"Apr 30, 2014 @ 8:50pm","epoch":1398890700,"text":"I only got to level 10, but I enjoyed it a lot, good job!"},{"author_name":"VictoryGarden","author_uid":"22357","time":"May 1, 2014 @ 8:24am","epoch":1398932340,"text":"Despite being a big fan of Tetris Attack, there were some bits and pieces here and there that detracted from your presentation. Being unable to move the cursor through the blocks was necessary for one puzzle, but for all the rest it just made things more tedious. More time after a failed puzzle to look at what was done incorrectly, and a shorter pause in the audio loop, would have helped as well.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>However, serious props for writing all of the scene changes in rhyme, and for adding a narrative to the game. It helped tie it all together. The gameplay works quite well, and is challenging thanks to the limit of moves you can do. The game revolves around a society that lives above some strange secret, but nobody has ever explored it due to fear. One day, you decide to travel downwards using simple technology to unravel this secret for yourself.\r\n\r\nUse the arrow keys to move and the X button to swap blocks. To clear each level, you must clear blocks by arranging them into rows of three or more in the amount of turns provided. There are fifteen levels in total.\r\n\r\nPuzzlescript was used for programming, Famitracker for the music, and the Game Maker Sprite Editor for planning out sprites.\r\n\r\nNote: the music for the game turned out very quiet for some reason, so you may need to turn up the volume to hear it.","title":"The World Beneath the Surface"}
