Super Mega Penguin X by Darkfrost

[raw]
made by Darkfrost for LD27 (JAM)
It is dark. You have a flashlight, but only 10 seconds of power left! Make your way to the exit! But be careful, if your power runs out, you wont be able to see, and many dangers lurk in the dark!

Made using XNA, so might require XNA redist http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914 / .NET framework

Make sure you have the XNA Redist installed ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914 ) - If it still doesn't work, please comment again - Seems to work fine for people when I asked in the IRC

Most levels could be completed in under 10 seconds, so yeah wasn't too annoying at all. Great soundtrack though. And yeah, good use of the theme.

Thanks :) How did you find the last couple of snow levels? Those were the hardest ones imo :D

I realize I'm living in the stone age here, but the interface elements don't line up correctly on my (non-widescreen) monitor. The part of the screen I have to click on to start the game from the title screen, for example, is well to the right of the "Play Game" graphic. Also, I don't know if it's related or I just didn't figure it out, but is the flashlight supposed to stay pointed straight up toward the ceiling? It wiggled a little when I moved, but I couldn't aim it at where I was trying to go.

That said, I love your title screen graphic and the music does a very good job of conveying "penguin in an ice cave." I'd play more if it displayed correctly on my monitor!

A solid entry, had some difficulty with a few later levels where the platforms were really small and it took longer than ten second to complete. Basically, I needed the light for pretty much the whole level but could not complete it in time, so it took a while to memorize some of the jumps.

Have problem with launch....I think Unit3d is the best Engine for this contest - allow all platforms

Very nice. I like the level design. Challenging, but doable. Having the limited field of view is very frustrating sometimes. Well done! Your game made me hate ice bears.
