one knights night by tamashihoshi

[raw]
made by tamashihoshi for LD27 (JAM)
the game:
a platform game. its simple. you can run and jump... as every normal human can do. just the flow of time is a bit different for you..
this game is very basic.. sorry about that :D+
you should click on the help bubble before clicking on the "to the rescue" bubble...

This is my first entry ever... and actually it is my first published game ever xD

submitted this for the jam entry but I entered when there were 8 hours left ._.' so sorry if its too crappy or something..

I want to thank the community for their help on my first steps on ludum dare :) thank you alot everybody!

the game is made with game maker 8.1 lite.. so don't play it if you are annoyed of the "buy gamemaker" stuff... ^^'

EDIT: fixed the screenshot :x

Cute artwork! I like the tiny character. But the controlers made it hard to play and actually kind of annoying. But this could be a very fun game if you're going to work more on it.

In game like this where you die a lot (at least i did) it is apreciated if i dont have to move my hand from arrowkeys to mouse every two seconds to try again. I loved the graphix and the idea of small levels

Neat little game. I really enjoyed the story, the art at the start was great! The game itself is really hard though, and could be helped by only restarting the current floor when you die. All in all impressive for only 8 hours.

The difficulty is not that big problem, since the game tells you that there are 10 levels. This might be motivating, when you think like "Let's do this, there's only 3 levels left!".

But as panuo said, it is annoying to move your hand back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse on every death.
Also the game window is a bit too small, and the watermark takes nearly 1/4 of the gameplay area. Sometimes I fell into the blocks too, but I guess this is a Game Maker related problem.

However, I really liked the drawings and graphics, and the tileset that changed with the levels. While the story looks like a classic save-the-princess, it has something that made me want to complete the game. And finally, are there multiple endings, or is *that* the real one?

The controls feel very smooth and the introduction was great. Good work, especially since it's your first game and you had such little time!

@panuo
Oh you are right.. I'm sorry I didn't think about it earlier :/ but I will definitely keep it in mind for future games! thank you for telling me ^^

@fluffypillow
Im pretty sorry for the mouse thing :/ I totally agree with you and panuo ^^' but don't worry this mistake won't happen again..
about the falling into the blocks.. well actually it didn't happen to me :o ...could it be, that you get stuck at the exact corner or do you really fall <into> the block? It would be good to know that so I could maybe fix it..
and yes, that is the real one... there are no multipile endidngs.. the next ludum dare shall be the sequel to this game~ (I hope so..)
Thank you alot for the review :)
