Meet Burly. He's your average lumberjack, but he has a really odd dilemma: he never got over losing the 4th grade spelling bee. Now he's haunted by the letters everywhere he goes. It's getting in the way of his work, and if he can't get rid of his demons, he'll get himself fired! Can you help him save his job by getting rid of all the letters, or will the delusions overpower you yet again?
Controls: Arrow keys to move. Press Z, X, and C to chop the corresponding letters. Fill your rage bar in time (every 10 seconds) or you'll be heading to the unemployment office! Also, ENJOY THE DANCE MODE. ENJOY IT. IT'S THERE FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT, SIR OR MADAM.
Funny game, it's too easy to just run around spamming ZXC. The game started to lag horribly after sometime and I failed because of it. Good but unpolished.
Very nice game and a cool idea, great job. It took me a moment to realise the vines were slowing me down, i also found it maybe slowed me slightly too much. Very enjoyable though :-)
Really fun game! Like others, I was just mashing ZXC, so that probably could have been reduced to one attack key. And maybe make the roots slow you down a little less? I'll stop complaining now, 'cause I really enjoyed it! Nice music too :)
How quirky and random :D Jokes apart, really enjoyed playing it, the controls felt a bit random at first (patches of dirt really slow you down *hardcore*) but it was a very fun experience.
Looking forward to see what you do next Ludum Dare :)
Nice game but it had some loading issues - sometimes the game just froze and after a few seconds I was teleported to the next level. Don't know if this was a feature or a bug. Very good idea!
Nice solid game! It had some fps issues though and the slowdown from the dirt seemed a bit unnecessary. The chiptune was the best I've heard from any game! :)
Nice graphics but game has some bugs.
Once I was walking on the way and in one moment I went into tree.
There was a road on left and right, but I couldn't go through there.
And I wasn't able to send score, there isn't ignore button, so I had to reload page.
But it's simple and funny game.
This is my real life as a freelance programmer.
I get the reasoning behind the stump/vine slowdown mechanic, but it's soooper frustrating (I felt actual lumberjack rage; mission accomplished? ;]).
The dance mode was hilarious!
I did notice when my score got up to about 3000ish that it began to lag a bit, which resulted in my death.
Overall, good entry, I enjoyed it!
Looking forward to see what you do next Ludum Dare :)
Bizarre combination of ideas, ha ha, and fun to play
(Psst, my game has an angry lumberjack in it too! Now we're buddies!)
