The Five Trials by jurnacsr
The Five Trials is a game of self-discovery, of learning from your master, and finding help from those around you.
You are Student Lee, an apprentice of Kung Fu. You have studied under Master Yan for 10 long years, but the wide world calls. You wish to study at the Monastery of the Bronze Staff, but need your master's approval before you can go.
Find help from the villagers below, learn new Kung Fu moves, and pass your master's tests.
This game is written in HTML5, so it should run on any good browser. I have found I get the best performance in Chrome.

I love kung-fu story! Really enjoy the various training mini-games. Jumping is a little bit strange IMO. In most of the games we "press" up then the character jump. But in this the character jump after I "release" the key.

I liked the various minigames, although the dancing one was a little weak. The platforming felt a little off since your player jumped when releasing up instead of when pressing it. The writing was pretty decent. The art was quite crude but had a good amount of character (the dancing fat dude was especially fun). The lack of audio really hurt this one, though. The theme also seems pretty weakly implemented. Overall, it was engaging enough to keep me playing to the end, but ultimately pretty forgettable.

The game has a nice original look. The controls are a little bit clunky.

Jumping is awkward, first I wanted to abandon the game and go one before I read lekochens comment. Then it gets fun. The art is typical programmers art and that is okay. It was very simple to play through the game. My favorite mini game was the balance game.

It's pretty hard to jump, but I love the art
