I loved the little character. The float transformation was adorable and I just cared about him so much! Don't know why. :) The mechanics felt pretty good and the levels were fun. I will say that dieing did feel pretty punishing because of the inclusion of lives and the long re-spawn time. But that did make me actually care as I went through the levels and wouldn't just jump into it without thinking. Really great mood to the game! This is one of the best games I've played this ludum dare, the concept is cool and the level design is excellent. The graphics of the world could benefit from a little bit of polish and animation but the character is gorgeous. The audio is nice but it little bit too retro for my taste. The controls works well but the game feels a little bit slow paced when doing a level for the second time. It's rather difficult to jump over obstacles when you can't be right next to them because as soon as your sideways movement returns a collision with a wall, your jump is canceled.
