Brave Hero by PixelIndigo

[raw]
made by PixelIndigo for LD26 (COMPO)
I don't have enough time to make it as I thought it would be, but anyway it's playable now.
Used software:
-Eclipse
-Libgdx as a game engine
-Sunvox for the music
Controls are very simple:
A or +volume - Left
D or -volume - Right
Space or CAMERA - Jump
S or Touch - Shoot.
This is a story about brave hero... Or not... Choose your path by yourself.

*love* the giant pixels! ...and the "!"-boss :D

Nice! Movement is a bit clunky, though.

I've heard of 8-bit, but this is like 3-bit. :)

It's so laggy, because I didn't have time to optimize code. It's also not hardcore :D I wanted to make it harder, but didn't make. Maybe I'll make it harder after LD :)

As short and easy as it was, that was kinda fun. Second time I started it up, it randomly closed on me... Third time though, I tested my theory about the "or not" part. Turns out I was right. :D

Forgot to mention the music. Well done on the music, I thought it fit quite well.

Giant pixels ftw. Flickers a little at times. Very short, but definitely worth the quick download just for the gfx. Really like the music.

It's well made (especially sound and music), but the enemies are not a threat at all and it was hard to tell apart background and foreground.

Could not play very far as my phone doesn't have an external camera button so i shall not vote but other than that it is a very good game music is very nice but after a while seemed repetitive :( but good game other than that one fault

I loved the big, pixel style. Very awesome visual design and it looks great!

I have to say, though, this game should be called Mass Killer. What did those big black things with the red eyes ever do to deserve getting killed? They're just in your way, but they're not dangerous at all, so far as I could tell.

The gameplay here has almost nothing to it, unfortunately, and it was often very difficult to distinguish the foreground from the background. More visual cues should be added to make that more apparent.

I'd like to see a full game made in this blocky pixel style. It's very pleasant to look at.

Хоть и нарисовано все пикселями, мир очень детальный. Правда, определить, что - стена, а что - фон, было не так просто.
Игра довольно однообразная, босс отличается только размерами и количеством здоровья.

Liked the style a lot. Movement should be per pixel not per block. Good visual prototype. Would like to see a longer game with more to do in this style.

I did both endings. I did notice a movement bug. But really cool game. Good job :)
