Plankton by Monklet80

[raw]
made by Monklet80 for LD35 (JAM)
Plankton is a meditative game about life in the ocean, 1 billion BCE.

Shift your shape to match the different species, catch food and find others of your kind to mate.

I'm new to game making, and this is my first time entering a jam. Some of the graphic design is by Ryan Johnson, the rest is by me. It's been really fun working on this, thanks everyone.

Thanks guys. :D I'm hoping to take it further, yeah.

Sorry about that Karia. I am working on getting a web-player up, but it's not straightforward. Maybe next LD. :/

This is a fun little game. The way the current draws the organisms adds a nice feel, and the pixel art looks pretty amazing.

Congrats on submitting your first entry!

I really like the premise, though the nerd in me says multi-cellular life only started really evolving like that during the Cambrian explosion, which was only ~540mil years ago (not 1bil years ago).

I like as well the way each species has different controls and properties, yet you're still all washed around by the general current in slightly anarchic fashion.

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description
