Stop Following Me by srimech

Stop Following Me is a simulation of being lost in a van in Birmingham. You cannot stop because an angry red van is tailgating you for no reason.

Press space to start, then left/right arrows to steer. On the title screen, the sound can be switched off using the stereo and the gear lever changes difficulty.

It's utter rubbish, but I'm forcing myself to release something or I never will! The sound effects lag behind the game unfortunately, which seems to be common with PyGame.

I've had one report of someone being unable to open the Windows zip; let me know if you have trouble.

Not bad! I love car games with this type of controls. A bit frustrating but the pain feels much less with the multiple checkpoints and snappy restarts.

Good job finishing! ;)

I had fun playing! Managed to get 48 seconds and 100 quid :) I removed the "mixer.pre_init" line to get it to run with Pygame 1.8.1

Haha, this is something different. Funny idea and minimalistic in execution.
And it's not rubbish!I didn't even notice that the sounds were late because I had to watch the road.

I like the light and the tire tracks. Nice touches.

The anoying van was a bit weird, sometimes it was in front of you after you died then juped behind me.

Also you cannot really lose, only be slow. You might want to add a different winning/losing condition and maybe some more varied (but still minimal) environment.
Other than that I can see this as an app on a phone.

Sometimes when respawning, you are facing straight into a wall, perhaps a check to keep you facing mostly forward. I liked the burnt rubber trails behind the cars, and how they persisted. Although sometimes chunks of burnt rubber wouldn't be draw after respawning, and it looked odd.

Nice! Is the other driver trying to tell you to slow down? hahaha
