Way of the Gear [Unfinished] by HacksawUnit

[raw]
made by HacksawUnit for LD36 (JAM)
Explore the tomb of the Gear. What lies at its heart?

...

Unfortunately, we may never know. I was unable to finish this game in time because I had a very busy weekend! However, I was able to create and tune mechanics for what could be a very fun puzzle game.

nice bright colours, and a nice idea, but a shame there are no more levels

Absolutely wonderful so far, it's a shame it is unfinished. The light effect and art were really good. I would definitely play more in a post-jam edition.

really enjoyed the visuals - colors, screen-shake, lighting were all nice! Definitely should finish it.

Brillian visuals, I love how the gear flickers when it moves. The idea is also good, if only there was more of it.

I did find one bug. If you move right up to a wall, stop and press the jump key, the jump will fail.

More levels pretty please?

Hi from Laguna from 1hgj! :)

I really like the visual style and the puzzles of the game. The music also feels very awesome and the ligh effect on the background is really cool! I would like to see more from this. A note on the keyboard layout: z is not the best choice for people with a german keyboard layout. Would it be possible to use the up-arrow key just for this?

Nice mechanics, great visuals and audio for a game! As the others have said, it would be great to see more levels!

A pity this wasn't finished, the mechanics seem very promising! Graphics and sound were pretty good. The platforming is a little off, though, especially when jumping up against walls.

The game looks so cool and the mechanics are great but there's this annoying thing where I get stuck at the wall!
It's soooooooooooo frustrating!

It looks nice and I like this controllable gear idea, but the platforming does not feel right, I get stuck into walls and sometimes the jump just does not register.

The game loads but is then stuck on the "menu". Looks like a resource doesn't want to load.

I... I can't figure out how to get past the title screen :(

Screen shots of the game look cool. Wish I could figure out how to play.

Beautiful and very novel game. The jumping is a bit awkward - it needs a bit of reaction time adjustment (allow the player to still jump after moving a bit off an edge).
