[raw]
made by TakeNapEveryday for LD25 (COMPO)
Increase your power, fame and wealth by prioritizing your evil tasks. Don't let the hero distract you! Once the hero has grown powerful and famous himself, crush him to destroy the hopes of the population that they could ever escape from under your growing shadow!

Help:
Click on the "Think", "Act", "Build" task buttons to change their priority. All tasks will progress, but those highest in the queue will do so at a faster rate.
Once a task is complete, click on it to collect the reward and move on the the next task.
When you wish to challenge the hero, click the "Crush him!" button.

It looks like there could be a fun game here, but it seemed to random.

Thanks for the comments.

@ripter: Unfortunately I ran out of time and didn't have a chance to add balance or progression to the gameplay, so it turned out more like a prototype with completely random events.

It's satisfying watching your power, health, and fame rise over the hero's! Simple and fun! Good job! :D

Cool idea... I had to mess around a bit before understanding the layout. I wish there were more to the game (this is actually meant as a compliment). Definitely enjoyed it.

I. Literally. Laughed. All the way through. What an awesome game! Felt really evil, and the random actions explained a *LOT* of what you can find in other video games :D especially dungeon ones.

Great entry, thumbs up from me :)

seems like the "crush him" is more of an "I'm done" button
rather interesting to read through the activities though

Nicely done. It's oddly fun just to see what the hero is up to, and what sort of 'progress' I get. Kinda difficult to catch up with the hero's power though (I think it's impossible)

Great work. Not a lot of gameplay, but all the different text makes it very interesting. Similar concept to my entry, actually! Give it a try. :)

Very simple and gratifying when you beat the prince! There are a few quirky humor bits that make it quite entertaining as well. Good Job!

I don't know why, but I really like this game. The sense of humor is really fun, and the graphics add to that. I feel that the hero needs to start with a little bit of an advantage because it's easy to just click the first item that fills up and then immediately "crush him" for the win.

This game, with better graphics for mobile phones...

Great concept!

Thanks for trying it out and commenting.
It's easier to win by 'crushing' the hero as soon as you have more power and fame than him - as time passes you are less likely to keep up with the growth of the hero. The amount of stats you gather and how much greater they are than the hero effect how many years you maintain your rule of the kingdom afterwards on the score screen.
I wanted to have a bit more interaction and a longer task list with a smooth drag and drop interface, but I didn't manage my real-life tasks well!

It seems I could have replaced my actions with a tiny script. I liked all the little lines and humorous actions but the game itself is indeed rather random. Expand on this a bit and let us know.

I like the overall intent of the game. I think these sorts of games where your influence on the game is really subtle can be nice. I think some other mechanic could make it more interesting, though. Perhaps you could send out minions to attack the player on the board, or pillage towns.

Pretty cool. It feels like a lot was accomplished in just 48 hours. Looking forward to playing longer.

About 3 hours to go until rating ends. Thanks to everyone for playing. As my first game compo, the most valuable part was getting feedback, so I've made an effort to play and rate the games of everyone who has left a comment. Cheers!
