Experiment X by XmmmX
In this game you have to escape from a secret laboratory. You are a failed experiment which started to run amok. Collect every upgrade you can find to evolve into a powerful being. Further and more detailed instructions are in the 'Readme.txt'.
Programming Language: C# (XNA 4.0)
Sounds: sfxr
Graphics: Paint.NET
This is the first time ever I created a game in under 48 hours so don't expect anything special. :)
EDIT: The main goal in this game is to escape at any cost. You don't have to kill every single scientist to win.
Important: You start out with no weapons/abilities! Just avoid every scientist who trys to kill you or try to find a different way to kill them.

A game design issue was the regeneration - it was best to just go hide behind a crate with shields on to wait for your health to regenerate. This made the tempo quite a bit slower than it should've been.
The graphics were pretty good, especially the scientists.
I liked the oldschool feel of the game, reminded me of some dungeon crawlers back in the day.
The surfaces that effect the player were also a nice touch.
Overall, quite enjoyable, just sometimes slow to progress.
I have nothing to complain about, except maybe the slow health regeneration. :)
Fun fact: we had similar story ideas, but your implementation is much better.
Yes, the problem about the regeneration thing is that I haven't implemented a proper AI for the scientists. It would have been much more challenging if they started chasing you around the obstacles after they had spotted you. I really underestimated the 48 hours.
@phren
Thank you for your feedback.
I am sorry for the sounds. I don't know any free music/sound generation programs apart from sfxr (which I met at this contest^^).
And yes, next time .zip. :)
I am sorry, I should have explained this better. The goal is just to escape from the laboratory.
You start out with no abilities and you get your first ability in level 2 and your first offensive ability in level 3. That's why I wrote "(Later)" in the readme. During the first two levels you just have to avoid the armed scientists (or find a different way to deafeat them).
Some music would round it off nicely - check out this link: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2011/12/13/if-you-find-it-hard-to-make-music-read-this/
@cakemonitor
Thanks for your feedback.
The final boss was just something I quickly added to make the game a little bit more challenging at the end. It's true that he is really hard to beat since I didn't spend enough time testing him.
(As I already wrote earlier I ran out of time ^^)
Thank you for the link.
Autotracker-Bu seems to be exactly what I was looking for but somehow the link seems to be broken. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Is there a special way to start it or do I just have to open it in the browser? (I already installed python 2.7 but the link seems to be a problem)
