Blob Tales by RaysAndLazors

[raw]
made by RaysAndLazors for LD35 (JAM)
Shapeshift your blobs into useful objects and lead them to castles in this cute puzzle platformer inspired by Lemmings. Walls will redirect other blobs, springs will launch them in the air, and bombs will get rid of the pesky soldiers. Conquer all the castles to take control of the whole world!

Pause is bound to Space key.

The game turned out rather heavy, so please be patient with the loading screen.

01-05-2016 Edit: Finally got time to fix a bunch of minor UX stuff and annoying bugs. Post-ludum builds available below.

19-04-2016 Edit: As a temporary workaround for the progression resetting you can use a debugging feature still left in the game: pressing PgDown on the level select screen should unlock all 16 levels for you to play. I'll start working on a post-ludum set of fixes as soon as I can.

According to our level designer all maps are playable. If the obvious solution doesn't work try to abuse the physics bu... features. We'll likely keep working on this after the jam ends, so please do leave a comment about what you liked and/or what you hated.

Very very beautiful game. Big thumbs up to your graphic designer. The art, animations, everything is top quality.

Good gameplay, it was fun to play. Some little problems when blobs landed on corners made them stuck, so I had to restart the level, but that's okay.

Many different level and they use different mechanics : that's cool, it makes the game far less repetitive.

Some details annoyed me : the game starts paused (I think starting it not paused and having one second of not spawning period could have been better). The back to menu button is also next to the restart en pause/unpause button, so I sometimes clicked on it, and here comes THE problem : Your progress doesn't really save, it's always only the first level that's openable. So one miss-click and you have to restart every thing again.

Correct those problems (The last one mostly) and the game would become awesome !

Congratulations for the team !

Pretty inovative and solid entry :)
The gameplay is good, and puzzles are too. If the save had been implemented, we would have loved to try each level and take time to complete all of them!

Well done!

I think this is a pretty good puzzle game. I am horrible at time sensitive strategy games like this, but it's fun.

Great idea to have a Lemmings game for this theme. Graphics are excellent but sadly I don't hear any sound.

Nice twist on the lemmings idea! I managed to make it far enough but then for some reason I couldn't get any further (I got like 1300 score but the game kept saying "Oh no!"). Nice game nevertheless. Could have used some sfx, though.
