Pasazh by harusame

[raw]
made by harusame for LD24 (COMPO)
Pasazh is a a-rpg/adventure like Zelda, you are alone and without power on a hostile land. You have to evolve to survive and get back to your people.

Arrow keys to move, space to attack.
Java is required to launch it.

I think the OS/X version work but i'm not sur.

Please, let comments if you play and rate my game. And if you finish it, post your score :)
It's probable that I play at your game if you leave a comment ;)

Cool game and the graphics are beautiful. That song for the overworld is a bit irritating though.

Great art and pretty good level design, though gameplay gets a little boring. The water and earth abilities seem like almost the same things.

I just realized, but is the character Avatar? THe head symbol looks like it.

I'm using OSX and I can't run the .jar. (downloaded linux/osx one), isn't it possible to create an Applet? I really want to try this game :)

this was nice! pretty and plays well. would have liked it if you moved faster, it felt a bit tedious at times (going back after the earth power etc) and the music was a bit repetitive but all in all it was a nice game!

Nice pixel art. Since you're using LWJGL, you should be able to create a Web applet reasonably easily that packages the natives alongside it - they have a tutorial on their site.

@ imef : What is your configuration ? And you can post the crash report ?

Thanks Toastation & Evil Cult.
I will try to create an applet. I'm not sure if it's possible with slick2d.

Thanks for comments diki and ncannasse :)

Hum, the heros evolve during the game and he he was sent to this earth to evolve in order to return home.

I'm agree with you for monsters ^^ I wanted to make a boss and a monster under water but no time :/

@ncannasse : your game is excellent, Motion twin for the win ^^

It's amazing how you managed to make such a good looking game in so little time! I tried something similar and struggled miserably. My only complains are towards the controls and character animation which could both be a little smother. Still, it's a great game!

thank you very much :)

I didn't sleep a lot X) (only 5h) and I cut many features to do this game (at the beginning, I wanted finish with a spatial fight versus a boss like a shoot them up but it was too ambitious, same for create other enemis ^^).

Ha! I loved the interaction with the terrain. Would have been nice with free movement rather than 4 directional, but you got a ton of stuff done in a really short time. Great job! My score was 136

Ran fine from Ubuntu. Can hardly believe this was made in two days. Fantastic graphics and level design; that alone would have taken me more than 48 hours. Music was nice. My score on the first round was 167; killed everything, but missed two crystals.

Thank you :) The perfect score is around 235.
I can do this in 48h because I have lot of experience in this type of graphics and level design ^^ I used rpg maker for 8 years and then it looks like a little ^ ^ And tiled map editor is easy to use for level design :)

I got it to work on my app with the OSX download, apparently I had downloaded a wrong folder before?

Amazing game :D The graphics are really nice, and the level design is clever, lots of small places to go in and find treasure, and nice going with having him evolve one bit at a time, unlocking new places. You never really feel lost, you always know where to go next because of the limitations you notice, so that's great. :)

I change lwjgl's natives for OSX,I had a mistake before, it's not you.

Thank you =) I think level design is the thing that I am the best.

My score was 174. 13/14 purples, 7/7 reds, 6/7 yellows, 19/19 blues and 9/10 crystals. The game looks great. The overworld music sounds a bit random. I thought the hearts were a bit unevenly spread around the game, but I did manage to beat it just fine, so it wasn't frustrating. Other than that it was a pretty long and polished entry, so good job.

Really great spriting. The music though, got rather irritating fast. The gameplay itself was decent, a working rpg in the time is always somewhat impressive...
The 3 hit death except for rare 1-health restoring hearts made it rather tiring and unnecessarily difficult, and every area felt pretty much the same which really brought down the atmosphere of it too.

Very good level design and graphics, a bit too easy to beat, would have been good with other enemies. The music sounded very generated, would be better off with some slow ambient as fast random tunes gets on your nerves :)

Pretty cool game, I really liked the map design and sprites. The shooting sound effect was kinda weird, but the other sound effects were great.

There was a weird graphic glitch on the "outside the cave" screen.

Thanks for the game!
