BATTLE ARENA PARTY 7! by QualityAssurance

[raw]
made by QualityAssurance for LD24 (JAM)
BAP7 is a Multi-Player Strategy game. The game starts by each player customizing their units with elements and abilities. When the match starts the units will attack each other with their limited AI. The player who best specialized their units will win. Players can then further specialize their units, and try to counter what their opponents did. Thus the tagline, "Strategy Evolved."

We saw the keyword of evolution as "adapt", so we created a game where players must adapt their units based on their opponent's choices.

I liked the concept, and the music is awesome. But there is no feedback during the battle to see how the stats and abilities are put into play. I think there could be a lot of potential here, it's just too invisible...

Cool game and music :)
A mute button and showing your current stats would be nice.
fire + dmg seems to beat everything..

Thank you for the feedback. We are going to continue to work on the game, so please keep checking the website for new builds!

Priority #1 is that feedback screen. We are going to have a breakdown of what each player's choices were for the previous round. That way you can make informed decisions on how you can best counter them.

There was not much time to balance the abilities. We will be tweaking them in the coming days, plus adding new abilities!

Interesting Idea, first multi player game I've played so far.

Really like the concept. Great chiptunes music. Was tough to tell what abilities were being used, or which player won each battle. A stat or battle report screen would be key so each player would know what skills to pick to level up. Overall, nice work on this one. A few tweaks and this could be a classic party game

Very nice concept, and it has TONS of potential. I'm going to play with my roommates later.

Cool Concept, fun to try. I agree with others that there could be more feedback in battle.

This strongly reminded me of the colorful little characters on a box of nerds candy.

Very good. I liked the concept. Got a little cumbersome to have to keep adding abilities for all four players before getting into the action.

Great concept! I like the hotseat, sit-back-and-hope approach to multiplayer :D

There may be some balancing issues? Didn't play long enough to encounter any, but I can imagine there is possibly a dominant strategy in there somewhere.

Cute and fun; I really liked how the dead guys got pushed around by the living ones. It was a little hard to know the value of the different elements or special abilities, as they didn't show up in an obvious way on the screen (other than Nova, which was cool). Stats and a more detailed combat with more animations might help you know what was going on. Also, some explanation as to the difference between the elements and different abilities; I'm sure there are some good combos, but I didn't have enough information to figure that out. It would be cool if you could battle vs. AI players, too, so you didn't have to pick all the options yourself. Nice work!

Good god the intro takes way too long. On the plus side, the music is awesome :)
