Defend yourself against the ancient threats at your desert forge
What technology is more ancient than fire and smashing stuff together?

------------Controls------------------------

Move with WASD Jump with space or w
Strike with J
Stab with K
Throw with L (you can drop with down + L)
Pickup with E

Also has Gamepad support- switches automatically when you press a button - mapped for xbox 360

All of the controls are shown in the game

Beating the game lets you play it in HARD MODE
the only difference is that you can't regenerate health
which happens at the beginning of each wave

could play sorta puzzly if your trying to figure out how to beat the game so skip past the lines if you don't want to know just yet

-----------------------------SPOILER------------------------------------------
------------DONT READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF--------------

Smash rocks together to sharpen them
Attach rocks to bones to make spears
Smash metal and melt it into an ingot
Attach bones to ingots to make a hammer
Forge a sword by hitting the molten ingot with the bone hammer

----------------------------------------------------------------

My first Ludum Dare entry
Also my first published web game, so I'm looking at all of this publishing stuff for the first time during submission hour and it is a little nerve-wracking :P

I made it from scratch in html javascript
I used
Sublime Text 2
Photoshop (a really old version)
sfxr for sound effects
and Chrome (so try chrome if it doesn't work in your browser)

Overall I'm very happy with how it came out. I learned a lot during this compo about coding and about myself. The game didn't really show a lot of promise until the last couple hours but I think that it really came together.

I still think I could do a lot more with it and I might continue on it after LD36
I didn't get that much time to test it thoroughly, so let me know if there are any problems or any suggestions/ critique are welcome as well.
Thanks For Playing! Hope you enjoy!

It doesn't seem to play in the embedded as well for me. It doesn't fit properly and the spacebar scrolls. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test this in time to try to fix it, but the web link works well to play on.

Can be confusing about what you're supposed to do, like hitting a rock with a bone, but the mechanics are very smooth and it makes for a enjoyable experience. Thanks mate!

Don't know if it was me or the game but the frame rate is low.
On the other hand, the graphics are good and sound effects are nice. The in-game mechanics are also nice.

Keep it up!

That was awesome. Graphics were kind of annoying when trying to make a sword cause I couldn't tell what was what, and sometime stuff should have had a J and not an E, but I really enjoyed that.
