City of Stillness by Sebastian

[raw]
made by Sebastian for LD24 (JAM)
The basic premise of this is that every time you take a step your stats (up in the top left corner) change.

This was about evolution when I began, honest! It just... uh... evolved!
The fighting is pretty broken. I can't really salvage it within the time frame though - hopefully a bunch of cute talking cat things will be enough in its place!

CONTROLS:
WSAD -move
E -interact (talk/use shrine/harvest tree)
Space -attack

OR

Arrow keys -move
X -interact (talk/use shrine/harvest tree)
Z -attack

Or rebind them with the Unity splash screen, if you are using the windows or mac versions.

It can be a little tricky to figure out in game, but you have to be underneath the trees, and then press 'interact' to harvest them.

If you are lost and need the locations of the orchards, there is a .txt file included in the downloads that will tell you where everything is. I recommend you use that if you are lost, as there is a fair bit of blank space - if you're lost it's my fault not yours.

I think I like the idea, and the turn-based (I think) style is pretty nice, but maybe just put a few more lights, or turn up the brightness, no idea where I was going and found the first rooms entrance by pure chance!

No idea what I was doing, but found all 3 orchards. Sometimes wasn't even sure if I was moving. And the orchards obscure everything on the screen. You've got a base, but needs a lot of polish.

The character looks like a pokemon (which isn't a bad thing) and I loved it how you modelled it!

The movement is pretty messed up though and there's no objetive clear

I liked it. Yes your kittens looked great. Turn based I like as well, but it was so clear what had to happen and the influence of the changing stats.

I like the character. The movements are little strange but I like too. Congrats.

I like the way it points out the importance of moving around and change ;)
