If the 6Mo Loading is too long, grab a cup of coffee (or any alternate beverage ).
__Story__
Did you know that everytime a new planet is born, it gets automagically populated by a bunch of colorful creatures ? Half of them are pure evil while the others are really nice fellows.
Ok you probably knew that already. But did you also know that everytime a new planet is born, the Evolution Master sends his devoted assistants to evaluate its potential ?
It's up to them to decide whether the planet will evolve towards good or evil. Basically what they do is destroy either the planet's cute or evil inhabitants. Whoever's left gets to rule the planet.
Are you up to the task ?

Haven't played any entries yet but will definitely bookmark this one
While playing, at first I thought I had to collect red or blue. After a couple minutes, I guessed I would get the meter to center by alternating red and blue collections. Not sure what is supposed to come after doing that.
Also nice how you integrated the website.
That is all.
Still, this should go very well in the competition!
I don't like the gameplay though.
Strange music for a game but very evocative!
sadly there isn't much gameplay in it but the experience is priceless. brushing around the screen with your character to the music is almost of meditating quality
well done guys
About the gameplay :
the aim was to create a very contemplative and relaxing game. Having something pleasing to watch and exciting to control was the first step.
Unfortunately we didn't have the time to implement the core gameplay : Chain, boost, level up and such features demands much more work in order to have a positive experience based on pure scoring.
We were afraid that death would crash the contemplative mood, so we've chosen to deliver a proof of concept that playing with the hero could be satisfying.
Rez, radiant Silver gun, ikaruga or journey was on our mind. but those kind of gameplay demands level design and fine tweeking.
maybe we will find some times to create an enhanced version and port it on touch devices.
Thanks again for all this feedback, it was a stunning LD.
Anyway, the overall execution is amazing & beautiful! :)
amazing graphics and nice music! very epic!
Also, I don't know how many people see the global stat tracking at the bottom of the page. That's really cool and the game feels awesome to control but I have to agree with most people that it gets a little stagnant with the lack of variation. I would love to see this game if you guys spent more time developing the chains, boosts, and leveling you mentioned.
But didn't really see how it fit in with the theme.

However after looking through your source I realised every
single file was created on the starting date of the compo
at the same time...
Sounds fishy to me why someone would mask creation dates...
Excellent work, everyone! <3
The graphics are beautiful, and I love the song. If you expand this, think about combos and also enemies or obstacles making it harder to collect. It feels a lot like Music Catch and I like it.
With that said, the game itself is incredibly boring. There is no motivation for action after you get over the (albeit very cool looking) paint brush and splatter effects, which happened well before the game ended. If the idea is to keep the balance between light and dark then all you have to do is nothing. If the idea is to have to choose between light and dark then it's a completely arbitrary choice because there are no consequences for either choice.
Having an open-ended game that let's the player set their own goals is totally fine (and often preferred) but when the players actions do not affect the game world in any perceptible way the result is total lack of interest.
Overall, despite the beautiful art and ridiculous polish, I left disappointed by the gameplay (or lack thereof). I hope your next game can find a better balance (see what I did there) between presentation and gameplay.
as i said on my journal and here, we only had 48h.
the main objective was to create the proof of concept. the actual gameplay is purely contemplative aka it's an eye candy whose let your mind flow without real purpose.
I do have a very clear gameplay with chains, evolutions (actually your skin is changing when you do good or bad but no direct boost of stats) and much more.
But we sadly did not had the time neither the motivation due to 48 hardcore hours and a monday work waiting for us =)
I would have loved some more short term goals to keep me entertained..
Full marks on every count!
A stunning wonderful experience!
@all: thanks again for the kind words, if I get some spare time this week end I'll try to improve the gameplay
Overall, the artistic team did a wonderfull job, and the programming team executed it very well (I love the trace you leave).
But... Wow, these graphisms, this music! I love the ambiance!
@mr_HK_
Yes I believe in you. It was just a joke. Your game is so beautiful and so well done that is impressive. Grea great job!
@linibou : Nice to see you here, hope that you'll join us next time :)
I only regret the very limited gameplay tough.
