Controls were great. I'd consider putting the UI outside of the play area, as it's a bit in the way where it is.
But the punching and rock throwing is great :)
I played for a while and the Evolute never seemed to kick in, and I wasn't dying,so I called it a day.
Nice effort man!
contra: can't heal ;)
Some things I didn't realize right away:
- You can hold down the fire button
- You can hide in your house at night
Some negatives:
- No pause
- It's tough to check how much you need to evolve because you have to mouseover, which is difficult in battle
- Evolve didn't seem to work by pressing 'E', I had to click it with the mouse.
It's interesting that evolving as soon as you can doesn't seem to be the best option. On my first play, after evolving three times I quickly got killed by the super-fast red zombies. On my second, I evolved twice to get a better weapon, collected money and resources for a while, then finally clicked the evolute button when I was getting low on health and I was instantly taken to the ending screen.
The graphics were awesome :D, music worked well, and all in all it was great. Lacked a bit more variety but oh well, you made it in 48 hours so it's perfectly understandable.
A bit too much grinding at times though.
Also I noticed you can't fire arrows if you are standing too close to something or the edge of the screen.
