There is a faint blue aura on them, and they generate mana stars, but it's not easy enough to connect to individual trolls.  We were thinking of making a post-compo version with various improvements, one being having distinctive hats for your own trolls ;)  \r<br\/>\r<br\/>@Gidaio:\r<br\/>Point taken, tooltips and an intro screen outlining the objective at the start might be other good improvement ideas.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>We also want to add a bit more of a level\/wave progression, now it's maybe a bit too sandboxy and not challenging enough once you manage to grow your tribe a bit."},{"author_name":"cobrajs","author_uid":"11192","time":"Aug 29, 2012 @ 10:37pm","epoch":1346279520,"text":"Interesting, but very hard to tell what is really going on. It ran very fast on my HTC One X though and was all a bit bewildering with trolls flying everywhere. I think it would be much more enjoyable if it was slightly slower paced and identifying your own trolls was easier. Once the basic gameplay was down, it would be good to see this developed further (e.g. with missions or simple resource management)."},{"author_name":"jplur","author_uid":"1066","time":"Sep 17, 2012 @ 10:32pm","epoch":1347920820,"text":"Nice game, unfortunately it ran way to fast on my phone."}],"images":["ld24\/2534-2f12b23f3398cfe962ee70eccde42152.jpg","ld24\/2534-8a7ee079c678f9b2d86921ca1ca9c60f.jpg","ld24\/2534-3226c6e738a3c40efcaddcbb7b0ae522.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/19531278\/ludumdare24\/TrollSpirit.jar","text":"Windows"},{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/19531278\/ludumdare24\/TrollSpirit.jar","text":"OS\/X"},{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/19531278\/ludumdare24\/TrollSpirit.jar","text":"Linux"},{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/19531278\/ludumdare24\/TrollSpirit.apk","text":"Android"},{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/zzorn\/ludumdare24","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"29542","g_author":"2534","g_event":"LD24","g_eventkey":"12","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"29572","g_title":"Troll Spirit","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"151","g_commentcount":"12","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/163678\/2534-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/163678\/2534-shot1.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/163678\/2534-shot2.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Troll Spirit\r\n============\r\n\r\nYou are the god of a tribe of trolls.\r\nNurture and evolve them, and help them\r\nvanquish all other trolls in the world!\r\n\r\n\r\nPlatforms\r\n=========\r\n\r\nCross platform executable Jar (Win\/Linux\/OSX) and Android APK.\r\n\r\n\r\nLaunching instructions\r\n======================\r\n\r\nLinux (Ubuntu)\r\n- Make sure the jar is executable (right click jar,\r\n  properties -> permissions -> check executable).\r\n- Right click, Open with -> select your JVM\r\n  (Sun JVM is best supported).\r\n\r\nWindows \/ OSX\r\n- Make sure you have Java installed\r\n- Refer to your operating system vendor for Java application\r\n  launching instructions (Seriously though, should probably work\r\n  with double clicking or similar, as long as you have Java installed).\r\n\r\nAndroid\r\n- Scan the QR code in the screenshots below, open link.\r\n\r\n\r\nPlaying Instructions\r\n====================\r\n\r\nAt your disposal you have a number of spells:\r\n\r\nWith the smite spell you can kill both enemy\r\ntrolls and your own worshippers.\r\n\r\nWith the love spell you can help your\r\ntrolls to fall in love, and get children.\r\n(They do fall in love on their own also.)\r\n\r\nWith the move spell you can command your trolls\r\nto go towards the place you click.\r\nThey will usually obey you, but they\r\nmay have other matters in mind too.\r\n\r\nWhen you click an enemy with the rage spell\r\nyour nearby trolls will heedlessly attack\r\nthe target and fight to the last troll to\r\nkill it - even if it is one of their own.\r\n\r\nWith the food spell you can toss apples from the sky\r\nto your faithful followers as a prize,\r\nor to save them if they are dying in hunger.\r\n\r\nWhit the watch spell you can listen to\r\nand observe one of your trolls.\r\nThe watched troll is shown larger.\r\n\r\nUsing your spells will drain yor mana.\r\nBut your mana will recover over time,\r\nand the more trolls you have, the\r\nfaster it will recover\r\n\r\nAt the top of the screen you can see\r\nthe number of your trolls that are alive\r\nas well as the total number of trolls.\r\n\r\n\r\nCredits\r\n=======\r\n\r\nCrated by zzorn and Shiera for Ludumdare 24 Game Jam, in August 2012.\r\n\r\nLibraries used:\r\n* LibGDX ( http:\/\/libgdx.badlogicgames.com\/ )\r\n* Our own basecode ( https:\/\/github.com\/zzorn\/libgdxbasecode )\r\n\r\nTools used\r\n* Bfxr ( http:\/\/www.bfxr.net )\r\n* LibGDX Particle effect editor ( http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/libgdx\/wiki\/ParticleEditor )\r\n* Gimp\r\n\r\n\r\nContact\r\n=======\r\n\r\nzzorn @ iki.fi\r\n<\/p>","title":"Troll Spirit"}
