EVO - X by GFM
[UPDATE - 08/28/2012]
Since many are, with reason, complaining about the game being unplayable, I'm adding a "post-compo version 1.01", with only two modifications: I added a demo and a "keys pressed HUD" (only activated during the demo, though).
Even so, I know there are two small problems with this demo:
1- since I mostly tap "x" to attack, it sometimes isn't shown...
2- I used floating point timers in my game for calculating when the next action should be performed... but that can cause some inconsistency if the framerate when playing is diferente from the one when recording... (since the replay is frame-by-frame, I think...)
At least, I finally understood why the gameplay fells so terrible to many... xD
---------------------------------
A flash adventure about a strange creature that can actively modify itself, given enough sample (that's, kill enough enemies and you get abilities =D).
Instructions:
arrow-keys - move
x - attack
up key - jump (when enabled)
c - run (when enabled)
k - stats screen
p - pause

A good game, nice to see how you've created your style.
Also, you can see what games I've played most through my style. xD
@turnip: That just show that it was indeed bad design... It's intentional for you to go downward and there isn't enough enemies to evolve. But, they respawn... I should have made the respawn time faster, so it wouldn't cause confusion...
I felt the character movement is a little slow for me!
Good job there!
The pixelart was really good. The hearts could have used some extra work since I couldn't really tell how much health I had left.
All in all, good job, it was a solid effort =)
Thanks for all the comments. It's really great to know what you all thought about the game. It also helps me understand which choices where good and which were bad. =D
Again, thanks for each and every comment. =D
Really, it helps a lot to know what I should (or must xD) improve. =]
