ANT FIGHT CLUB by gamblore
Part of the game is figuring out what chemicals to bath your ant species in to get better, but what they do is unknown at the start. All you know is that the chemicals destroy part of the population of that colony. You also have to be careful not to kill off your ants by over-evolving, depleting their colony strength to extinction. Look for subtle differences in the ants at the menu screen to determine colony strength.
I added the random button in the challenge screen that creates a new enemy to play. This is just useful to level up your ants so you can take on the "hero" scientists.
This is my first LD48. I've been working on a port of FlashPunk for Android for the last few months and I used it for this.

If you really want to try it you can use the Android emulator that is in the Android SDK. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
I also feel like this game needs more in the way of instructions. You don't have the ability to make really rapid iteration cycles, and you spend a lot of time getting hammered by the other opponents.
On the other hand, this is a nice take on resource management, and having done native Android for a game in LD23 I can really appreciate the work that went into this.
Runs nicely on the Nexus 7, but you probably knew it would. :)
I wish I knew what I was doing (which chemicals do what). Also, the battles take rather long.
It's amazing that one can make a Android game in just 48h with those tools you used!
Ran smoothly on HTC Desire. Completed the game (without a single defeat).
Thanks for playing it to completion. :)
Enough people have asked so here is what the chemicals do.
Red: Attack Damage (small decrease in critical rate)
Yellow: Critical Rate (small decreases in attack damage and hp)
Green: Attack Speed this decreases time between attacks (small decreases in HP and critical rate)
Blue: Hit Points (small decrease in attack speed)
Fight are pretty boring to watch currently. The ability to fast-forward or even skip them entirely might be the way to go.
Thanks for providing a QR-code! :)
