Town by RedPanda
Town - A Game where you need to defend the town from Shapeshifting monster.
ATTENTION, please:
* Game is jittery by intention. May cause epilepsy! Please be careful.
* WebGL build resolution may be wanky, try fullscreen or standalone please. Also it may be really laggy, please remember that the Unity WebGL build is still beta. so it's not perfect. Standalones do not lag that much at all.
* Unity Web Player uses NPAPI, most browsers disabled those, so only WebGL build is present;
* Standalones link lists 3 zip archives (For Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X). Each archive contains both x86 and x64 version for their respective OSes;
* No audio voting because I haven't got time to do even basic SFX not to mention music.
* I uploaded 1 hour after the submission hour because while adding the main menu I accidentally broke the player prefab and all it linked stuff. Meaning an hour and then some of re-linking stuff.
Description:
Town is a game where you play as wizard (I鈥檓 a what? ?) hero Hayley that is trying to stop the evil Quazhooman shapeshifting beast from wrecking, otherwise, peaceful town of fine people into shreds. And of course pillage it along the way. You need to use your wizardy powers to target it weaknesses and stop it, before it can destroy the fine establishment of a town, or die trying.
The game place as a clicky-clicky game where you need to use best spells to target monster鈥檚 shape most effectively. Each shape has a set of attributes (Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Holy and Dark) that either provide a strong point against attacks of those natures, or weaknesses that let you exploit them, dealing more damage.
The player can also return stolen goods while fighting the monster, and use those resources to learn more powerful spells, upgrade oneself鈥檚 fortitude, and get more proficient in art of casting spells.
Rule set:
To buy new spells: 50 coins * spell level
To buy more health: 15 coins + 15% each next one
To buy faster cooldown 25 coins + 20% (? I forgot really...) each next one
Target boss's weakspots (negative numbers) with appropriate spells.
Don't let the town die!
Vision:
I really wanted the One Huge Enemy Theme, so I just took it and made the enemy shapeshift. :P
Sadly because of poor management of myself I didn't complete a lot of stuff like: (a lot) more boss shapes, power ups, more deep combat system, animations, music, sfx, and more. But hey, it was a wild ride, I am sleep deprived, hungry and starting to get mad, but I guess it was worth it in the end!
Controls:
Just mouse and clicks :)
Tools used:
* Unity Engine 5 Personal
* Paint.NET
* Visual Studio 2015 Community
* Audacity (But didn't have enough time to add sound fx)
3rd party resources:
* Font: http://www.fontspace.com/khryskreations/kbcloudyday
Other stuff:
* Design doc: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1V1P9UOc6_X3VJNkQMD45lnzbcviblXMzo4K-rdkbn6g
* Initial ideas: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Hi2dX1GLjxnhjIp7ZblHaWvvoHsUuyeF2yadXKo-B9k
* Code is horrible, only use it to show hot NOT to code.

I'm interested by this game and it was worth the pain to get to play with that.
My number 1 despair reason was the 1M HP bar which makes the game unbeatable imo.
Just saying, having to click coins is more than onerous (considering a twerking screen !).
The name change along the spell upgrade is very pleasant.
I've totally NOT understood how the reflecting system is operating, I've assumed the boxes on the right had something to do with it but I couldn't find a logic.
With better stats balance and a global clarification, I'm sure this game could make our day.
