My main sticking point was the jump mechanics.  Being able to vary jump height based on how long you hold down the button would add a lot, since getting caught on edges or overshooting pickups can be a disincentive to trying some of the tougher routes. My character kept falling through the floor, he couldn't jump on the platforms (He'd either fall through them straight away or hit them at an odd angle). It made the game impossible. To make matters worse the game actually slowed down my computer, which is not old by any stretch.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>It sounds like a decent concept, but it's far too buggy to properly judge. In this game you are being chased by a creature who initially is slightly more evolved than you. Can you surpass him? \r\n\r\nThis game is very short. I wish I had made a level editor.\r\n\r\nControls: left = left, right = right, space = jump.\r\n\r\nI fixed the big where you fall through floors. It is a quickfix, but it shouldn't happen anymore. It is included as another runnable jar so there is a buggy and not as buggy version.\r\n\r\nEDIT: I added a post compo version that fixes the collision bug once and for all (I think). You now also jump based on how long you hold the space bar. I am working on a level editor too and hopefully more levels.<\/p>","title":"Acquire Tophat"}
