OS X will work fine as well. To make it run (assuming the game is extracted to \/users\/username\/evogem):\r<br\/>\r<br\/>sudo apt-get install dosbox\r<br\/>dosbox\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Then, in dosbox:\r<br\/>mount c \/home\/username\/evogem\r<br\/>C:\r<br\/>EVOLVE.EXE\r<br\/>\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Anyway, I like it a lot. Very old school, and very cool. I played a bunch of times, never got far: high score just 7798, but I'll keep trying :) Also, you're crazy for writing this in QBasic (so bonus points for that)!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>One point - I think that it would be nice to be able to skip the introduction rooms after the first play, and the game needs more instructions.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Overall, an excellent entry, which is both fun and sticks to the theme. Very out of the box, great work."},{"author_name":"Cipher","author_uid":"13577","time":"Sep 1, 2012 @ 3:16am","epoch":1346469060,"text":"Very hard....was nice though"},{"author_name":"Oceanspud","author_uid":"16346","time":"Sep 1, 2012 @ 4:25am","epoch":1346473200,"text":"Make sure you talk to the 'wise elder' in the introduction room to get to your quests \r<br\/>\r<br\/>Thanks for the sincere comments, I appreciate it :)"},{"author_name":"hercludes","author_uid":"14310","time":"Sep 1, 2012 @ 4:36am","epoch":1346473860,"text":"Nice, maybe some pre-generated trophies, instead of randomly generating every time you entered area. Did you use Qbasic as the IDE or did you write it in another editor and just use qbasic for "compiling" it? I'm amazed if you pulled off using the editor, it would have driven me mad!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>I like the little "tips" and "facts" that pop up at the bottom, though they're incredibly distracting! Over all the game has a really nice feel to it, and gives me nostalgia for the old Qbasic games I used to play."},{"author_name":"Mago","author_uid":"5227","time":"Sep 6, 2012 @ 5:49am","epoch":1346910240,"text":"Very hardcore and oldschool. respect for writing it in QBasic. \r<br\/>\r<br\/>My best score 19144."},{"author_name":"Canard Sauvage","author_uid":"9578","time":"Sep 14, 2012 @ 6:52pm","epoch":1347648420,"text":"Amazing, the source code alone looks great :D It is quite hard and I needed 3 deaths to understand the game mechanics. Totally extra points for QBasic, but the game would work with nearly every other theme. Still, I really like it and it definitly is a great must-play entry!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Last but not least: Please do not use these filehosters, they totally suck (you need to wait, they are slow and annoying).
