Evolution is a tough job. Can you handle waves of enemies and natural calamities and survive?
Waves of Enemies and Natural calamity will deplete the gene pool available. It is up to you to restock that food and kill off carnivorous aliens.

It took me a bit to figure out exactly how to play, but it was fun once I got it! I did seem to run into a bug though - once I got to really playing it the right way, all my creatures ended up eventually dying (of course), but it still showed my population at 4 and so it kept going
