Seed Feed by rhaasken

[raw]
made by rhaasken for LD24 (JAM)
Play as Charles Darwin as you launch seeds at birds to feed them. The finches have evolved to have beaks appropriate for a certain size of seed, so make sure you feed them the right seeds!

For background on how it fits the theme, see this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin%27s_finches

How to play:
- Use the mouse to pull back and release to fire the slingshot.
- The queue of seeds is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen. The next one to fire is farthest to the right.
- Once you have fed a bird three seeds, it will fly away, and a new bird will replace it.

Sound concept but could use some more polish.

They should have evolved flying capabilities so they wouldn't have to wait for that slingshot man to figure out what to shoot at them :)
Nice and clean graphics and music!

Awesome! Simply loved playing this game. Simple concept yet clever, well executed! Graphics are great and the game is relaxing to play. Related well to the theme. Well rounded game in the time given. One of the best games I have played/rated during the competition. My only complaint is that I wanted more! This game should definitely be developed further and released. VERY well done!

Like some already mentioned, it could use some more polish, I think partially due to the frame-rate (the motion is very stuttery), the graphics quality could be improved, applying gravity to the seed might be a nice addition too.

One thing I couldn't figure out, is why the slingshot didn't show the same seed (not sure what it was holding actually) that was thrown at the birds. It would also help to give a better sense of direction if there would be a little guide / trajectory line to illustrate where you're aiming. It wasn't always clear by just eye-balling it or relying on the angles from the slingshot's straps.

Decent. Got boring quickly and was kind of difficult to aim in some cases. Could use more powerups etc. to add some interest to it, and overall more polish.

Nice and relaxing, nice music. Not that much fun, though. :) Good work.
