Curse Of Grimwood by digital_sorceress
This is for WINDOWS only. It is unlikely to run through WINE.
================================
This is a multi-character Action-RPG with a top-down view, reminiscent of games like Diablo.
My interpretation of the theme was that the game would take place on a small fabled island, like Atlantis or something. But I'll be the first to admit that Grimwood Isle doesn't feel all that small when playing. :/
With four heros (a Warrior, a Thief, a Wizard, and a Priest), your objective is to kill all the undead monsters. All heroes must survive.
Each hero has unique strengths and weaknesses, whether it be speed, armor, damage, or range. Each hero also has a special ability, and using these abilities wisely is crucial to victory.
Control with keyboard and mouse:
================================
Cursor Keys+CTRL -- Control lead character (can do this with mouse)
F/S/W -- Change ally behaviour (can do this with mouse)
1234 -- Set Hero as Leader (can do this with mouse)
X - Use Special Ability
Escape -- Return to Title Screen, or Exit.
This game uses opengl, so you can use FRAPS to make gameplay videos should you wish to.

Couldn't ever get mouse movement to work though, I feel like that would have been a good experience!
A game over screen was sorely missed, but other than that, great game :-)
Nice graphics and gameplay, though a bit repetitive.
This shone through in the game whether I was sending the priest and wizard ahead to attack things from range, tanking with the warrior, or keeping the priest back to heal the others. With more abilities, and more useful AI/choices of behaviour (e.g. aggressive/defensive) you could have the basis for a good, old, dungeon-crawler on your hands.
Alas, a few things weren't communicated such as the limited mana, or even what the special abilities actually did. And the map was a bit maze-like because it didn't have much in the way of monuments or markers for me to orientate myself. I could get enemies from range without them closing me down and my party also got in my way from time to time, but these things aside, I enjoyed what was on show.
There was a minor bugs, but nothing critical.
That being said the collisions need work, the way they made your party members all but useless unless you micromanage them all, including the way they like to get stuck in each other or you.
Nice work. It's fun and moody, and could be xtended beautifully.
The game could've felt more cooperative if you could push your allies out of the way when you hit them (like the difference between Starcraft 1 and 2). Right now it feels like your AI buddies are these guys:

(watch for about a minute)
Everything else was pretty awesome. Impressive for a 48 hour compo game.
The only really annoying thing was that your party member sometimes like to get stuck. ;)
