Tiny World Big War by dx0ne

[raw]
made by dx0ne for LD23 (JAM)
With your Super Pixel Powers help your fellow green Heroes get to the right side. Kill Grays. As war is pointless this game lacks goal. There is no end. Just death after death.

Created almost from scratch in AS3, using Flash Develop and Pickle.
Busy weekend. Couldn't fit into 48h.

Okay, war is pointless. But were you going to take this farther? There's detail in here, like your friendly troops levelling up.

Anyway, this was fun for a while. And war is, ultimately, pointless.

Very cool game. I wish i could make games like yours.
However, after a few minutes playing, my eyes begin to cry because of the low resolution and the green color.

this is cool... u have to finish this! Perhaps with some challenging feature...and of course, multiplayer possibility :)

Interesting... I'd like to see more. Multiplayer, why units level up, how to 'win' (it would be nice to have a tug-of-war mechanic?), etc.

P.S. Where's the source? (Luke)

I like it! It doesn't have a lot to do with the theme... no sound and a weird mood... but man its fun! I could definitely see this going further.

Good job, it really emphasizes how pointless war is. ;) Nice touch with the body stacking.

I like the promoting, this game should really be expanded to an actual game

Awesome game, though it goes very slow. wich makes it boring after a while.

Very interesting game. The blue bar was a bit hard to see, and I wasn't really sure if I was playing right or not. Does one side ever win or do they keep killing each other in the middle?

Kind of cool that there's no win condition, but I'm really impressed by how you managed to have so much stuff going on without memory issues.

Didn't read the description and tried to win for a while.. then I realized it's pointless. Well done! Lesson learned!

It could use some more tuning and stuff to do (and sound of course), but overall it's pretty solid. Good job!

Like the graphics. But the gameplay got old pretty quickly.

I tend to agree with graytest. Cool game, but not terribly engaging with respect to gameplay

Impressive how much stuff is happening on screen at once!

Some sound would make this more appealing, and the graphics are really nice, but in terms of gameplay - I'd say war is pointless because of many reasons, and the only one here is that player cannot win. I can see the message, and I agree completely that war is pointless, but I'm not sure if this work delivers arguments that lead exactly to this conclusion.
On the other hand - maybe just thinking about this sentence is enough. Anyway - it's a good entry, but I'd like to see some more depth in terms of gameplay.

This is a great game. Carpet bombing is so much fun. Bigger bombs and some good sounds would go a long way.

It's a great framework, but not too much of a game. There are some interesting ideas in there, though.

Love the mega-carnage fest, highly cathartic and satisfying! Perhaps more weapon choices for even more gratuitous destruction? there's loads of scope; vehicles, etc.. It is quite strategic but I feel this aspect could be developed as well. Better special effects would be nice as would sound

Interesting and nicely done, but the gameplay gets old quickly. Also, no diagonal movement was pretty annoying.

I like the ultra old-school look. Needs more variation is weapons and explodey bits and it would be awesome :D
Nice job.

War is pointless indeed. This game really got your point across. And it had some interesting gameplay as well.

your idea is good but should be developed. It should also have a goal or end.
However : nice work dudes :)

You know what I would have loved? If, when you die, you get to select your new reincarnation. Sort of like what the Harbinger does in Mass Effect 3. That would be all kinds of awesome. Top marks for innovation :)

Endless war! I got the bar really close to full green, but couldn't get it full. Air strike was a lot of fun. I got confused by the little skull and crossbones, thought it meant my man was dying or was poisoned, I'm assuming it actually meant he was top rank? Great job, shame there's no music or cute little voices (but with that many guns/deaths the sfx would probably get really annoying).
