A World for Me by kassanu

[raw]
made by kassanu for LD23 (COMPO)
I feel this was a good first LD. This was my first platformer, first time using canvas and my first time really finishing a game. Most of the time I try to make my game too grand and end up shelving it forever unfinished. But this time I made sure to keep my plans small and I'm glad I did and was able to finish on time. So enjoy my first submission! It is about a person who has grown too large to live on his world and must jump from planet to planet looking for a new home.

Neat game. Could have used a reset button instead of having to refresh. It's a little weird that the planets have squares for collision that are the width of the entire texture. It'd be better to have circles or at least squares that were shrunk horizontally to match what you can stand on more with what the player would expect.

I kept snapping to the left edge of each planet, and it wasvfrustrating trying to position yourself for a jump, seems to get stuck on the edges of smaller moons. Interesting idea, ditto to the previous commenter about the collision boxes. Odd to have regular platformer gravity in space, was expecting something more like running around the outside of each planet, jumping and being caught in anothers gravity, etc.

I enjoyed the story and jumping onto the moving platforms

I can't stand waiting for platforms. The only thing it challenges is my patience. Cool concept, but maybe it should've been a spaceship that needed to use gravity correctly instead of a giant dude. That way you have something to do while waiting for the next moon to come around, and gravity would make a little more sense.
